U.S. PayPal users can now make purchases across ‌China using WeChat Pay's QR-code ‌merchant network, Tencent Financial Technology said on Wednesday, ​adding the service will be rolled out to PayPal users in other markets in phases. Tencent's cross-border payment platform ‌TenPay Global ⁠is now connected to PayPal World, Tencent Financial Technology vice ⁠president Daniel Hong said, according to a company social media post. The company ​is offering ​incentives to ​encourage the use ‌of foreign bank cards linked to WeChat Pay, including temporary fee waivers through 2026.

Dick’s Sporting Goods narrowly cleared the bar for the first quarter but a cut in its full-year earnings outlook and cautious guidance sent shares sliding Wednesday. The Pennsylvania-based retailer posted first-quarter adjusted earnings of $2.90 a share, a touch above analysts’ calls for $2.89. Although the company raised the low end of its full-year comparable sales outlook for both the Dick’s and Foot Locker franchises, Dick’s now sees earnings of $13.27 to $14.27 a share, compared with a prior range of $13.70 to $14.70.

Non-European satellite operators such as Elon Musk's Starlink and Amazon's low-earth-orbit business can bid for mobile satellite spectrum, the European ‌Commission said on Wednesday, leaving the door open to U.S. companies while also decreasing the ‌share of spectrum they will be able to acquire. But the push has been marked by internal divisions at the Commission, with some wanting to be more aggressive and others wanting a more gradual line. Two thirds of the ‌available spectrum will be divided equally ⁠between EU and non-EU operators for commercial use, the EU executive said, confirming a Reuters report.
