OpenAI has confidentially filed for an initial public offering, setting it up for what may be the most highly anticipated market debut in recent history and a massive payday for early investors.
OpenAI said in a statement that it has confidentially filed its draft S-1 document with the SEC.
The filing comes a little more than a week after its main rival, Anthropic, also filed to go public, ramping up the race between the two AI firms.
Major insurers such as Allstate, Liberty Mutual and Nationwide kept at least 15% of their holdings in assets such as private equity and hedge funds last year, according to research by S&P Global Market Intelligence. Other carriers, including The Hartford Insurance Group, Chubb and USAA, keep less money in such investments, but their share more than doubled in the past decade, S&P Global analyst Tim Zawacki found.
