Exclusive-South Korea's SK Hynix to opt for Nasdaq for planned US listing, sources say

South Korean memory chipmaker SK Hynix is looking to choose the Nasdaq for its planned U.S. listing, two sources familiar with the matter ‌said, opting for the technology-heavy bourse to capitalize on investor appetite for AI-linked stocks. The planned listing ‌as early as August comes after a 230% surge in SK Hynix's share price this year, lifting its market value above $1 trillion in May. The U.S. listing is expected to broaden the company's investor base and raise its profile among global investors. The company selected Nasdaq over the New York Stock Exchange, said the sources, who declined to be identified because the information was not public.

Yet beneath the surface, another market has been flashing warning signals. The bond market, often called the “smart money” because of its sensitivity to inflation and economic conditions, is increasingly signaling that interest rates may ... When Will SpaceX Shares Start Trading?

SpaceX executives are set to ring the Nasdaq’s opening bell in New York City, but shares in buzzy initial public offerings don’t usually start trading until later in the day. Bankers leading an IPO typically want to match buyers and sellers for about 10% of the shares sold before opening trading to lessen volatility. Because pre-IPO investors are restricted from selling shares for a while, it can take time to find willing sellers among those who bought shares in a high-demand IPO.

How Musk's tactics left investors clamoring for SpaceX stock and ignoring risks

In recent years, Elon Musk has been picky about whom he allowed to buy in to SpaceX, the rocket ship company making its highly anticipated stock market debut this week. One investor said that when SpaceX was privately held, he used a connection with a cousin of the billionaire entrepreneur to buy $10 million worth of stock in the satellite maker in 2018. A portfolio manager at a $500 billion U.S. fund said he had to use his relationship with a board member of the Musk-led Tesla for an ‌allocation of SpaceX shares in 2023.
