The Stock Market Survived the SpaceX IPO. What to Watch for Next.

The SpaceX initial public offering didn’t mean all that much to the stock market this past week—but it could mark the start of the countdown to the end of the bull market sometime in the year ahead. SpaceX, which began trading on Friday, was the market’s focus this past week. It is the biggest IPO in history; it’s building a business that seems based on a sci-fi novel; and it’s led by a controversial CEO in Elon Musk, who attracts attention—good and bad—wherever he goes.

Zscaler CEO delivers a sharp take on AI agents

Most cybersecurity CEOs, if not every other, are talking about Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents right now. And we are seeing most of them often use the same vague language about "securing the future of work." Well, Jay Chaudhry looks like he’s different. Speaking on CNBC's "The Exchange" on June ...

Spotify logo backlash was amplified by bad actors

Unless you are chronically online, you've probably never heard of the "Dead Internet Theory," but the presence of non-human actors, or bots, in the social media space is undeniable. Dead Internet Theory proponents argue that the vast majority of online content is either created by or consumed by ...

Stock Market Week Ahead: Keep An Eye On The Little Things

The past week's stock market saw the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq composite test, then bounce off support at their 50-day moving averages. The S&P 500 then rose, on Friday, to briefly test resistance at its 21-day exponential moving average. The Nasdaq did not rise to this level. The Nasdaq 100, however, as tracked by the Invesco QQQ Trust Series...

Morgan Stanley CEO floats bold $10T wealth opportunity

When a business unit already oversees more than $7 trillion in client assets, most CEOs would focus on defending that position. Not Ted Pick. The Morgan Stanley CEO has raised the bar for the firm's wealth management business, arguing it can grow to $10 trillion in assets on its own. Ted Pick told ...

Why an Iran deal might not be dovish for the Fed

Bank of America warns stock market may face a 1994-style shock

Wall Street was betting big on Fed relief, but Bank of America sees a quiet risk brewing. The bank sees an unsettling 1994-style market setup, where inflationary pressures, higher yields, and tighter Fed policy could hit stocks instead. The warning lands as headline CPI is running near 4.2%, ...

Mag 7? MANGOS? SpaceX forces name rethink on Wall Street's tech-stock moniker

SpaceX roared into markets this past week with a valuation of more than $2 trillion, surpassing two members of Wall Street's "Magnificent Seven" and raising a key question: Does the Mag 7 name still fit? ‌And if not, what should replace it? The IPO, the biggest in U.S. history, vaulted SpaceX's value above two Mag 7 members: ‌CEO Elon Musk's other company, Tesla, and Meta Platforms. With SpaceX's arrival, "it becomes very hard to keep using Mag 7 as the clean shorthand for market leadership because one of the most important companies in the world would immediately be outside the label," said Shay Boloor, chief market strategist at Futurum Equities.
