Novo Nordisk said it asked a U.S. court to preliminarily halt rival Eli Lilly from advertising weight-loss drugs, days after accusing the Indianapolis drugmaker of using deceptive advertising to mislead consumers in a lawsuit. Friday’s preliminary injunction request, filed in the District of New Jersey, escalates legal proceedings initiated earlier this week. Novo has now asked the court to stop Eli Lilly from advertising its GLP-1 drugs while the lawsuit proceeds.

That ⁠trial — completed in 2024 — compared patients on 10 mg or 15 mg of Lilly's Zepbound to patients on 1.7 mg or 2.4 mg doses of Wegovy. The FDA approved ​a 7.2 mg dose of Wegovy in March of this year.</p></body>
