Blue-chip stocks were on track to slide on Friday as tensions between the U.S. and Iran drove up oil prices, adding to investors’ inflation worries. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell 99 points, or 0.2%. Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 0.1%.

The producer price index rose 4.7% in July 2025 after a 5.5% annual increase in June.

The S&P 500 closed at a record high after soft July producer price data eased fears of a Fed rate hike in September.
