WTI crude is currently trading at $90.70 a barrel, down $3.19, or 3.40%, on the session, according to Investing.com data. Brent crude fell $2.67, or 2.68%, to $96.91 a barrel. The catalyst: Iranian state TV reported the existence of a draft deal with Washington that could ease the shipping crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, the critical chokepoint through which a significant share of global oil supply flows.
