Perplexity says it plans to use Nvidia's new CPU

AI startup Perplexity on Tuesday confirmed it plans to use Nvidia's new ‌central processing units, as the chip giant works to ‌broaden its market and take on entrenched players such as Intel and Advanced Micro Devices. Nvidia has said it expects to generate $20 billion in sales from its "Vera" CPU, a more generic computing chip than its AI-specific offerings, by the end of this fiscal year. The Vera chips ‌are part of Nvidia's efforts to diversify sales as artificial intelligence companies such as OpenAI and DeepSeek make their own AI chips.

Bubble or Fatigue? The Stock Market Needs to Decide—Now

Stock markets have been firmly set in a “beat and raise” focus heading into the start of a crucial earnings season, and their reaction Tuesday to a manifestly impressive set of figures from the world’s biggest chip maker suggests anything less than perfection likely will disappoint. Samsung impressive second-quarter earnings, which included a near 20-fold increase in profit and a doubling in overall revenue, failed to add any extra juice to a market already foaming with speculative fever for all things tech following a red hot first half of the year.
