Why the S&P 500 Is Suddenly Your 401(k) Account’s Worst Performer

Your exchange-traded fund is flat. Remember that ETF you tucked away that invests in developed markets outside the U.S.—the one that looked cheap but has lagged behind the S&P 500 forever because it’s loaded with crusty old companies in Europe and Japan? By the way, both of these overseas funds, developed and emerging, beat the S&P 500 by a lot in 2025, too, but that was partly because the value of the dollar tanked last year as the Federal Reserve was cutting interest rates.

Disney (DIS) Stock Looks Cheap On Earnings And Cash Flow

Walt Disney stock has had a tough run over the past few years, yet both the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) intrinsic value estimate and the market multiple checks currently point to the shares trading at a discount to those fundamentals. Walt Disney shareholders have seen the stock decline 46.1% over the past 5 years, which sets expectations low even as current valuation tools suggest more value in the business than the share price reflects. Heavy capital spending on parks and streaming can...

Starbucks taps childhood nostalgia with 5 new drinks

Starbucks (SBUX) is looking to chase a feeling that doesn’t start in a coffee shop. In fact, it typically starts with summer, orange-and-vanilla frozen treats, and the sort of dessert most people remember from childhood before they ever knew what espresso was. That’s what makes the coffee-shop ...

How Charles Schwab Turbocharged Trump’s Stock-Trading Frenzy

In August, a New York appeals court delivered some good news to President Trump —and sent his Charles Schwab account into overdrive. The president’s trust had set aside money in a Schwab account to pay the fine, but the ruling freed up that cash for investments, people familiar with the situation said. Within days, the Schwab account was snapping up and selling dozens of stocks as an automated trading strategy put the cash to work.
