South Korea's SK hynix, a maker of memory chips for artificial intelligence data centres, said Wednesday it plans to raise 45.45 trillion won ($29 billion) through a listing on Wall Street's tech-heavy Nasdaq stock index.SK hynix said proceeds from the offering would be used to fund chip facilities -- including its first fab at South Korea's Yongin semiconductor cluster, an advanced packaging facility in Cheongju, and chipmaking equipment.

Qualcomm is in talks to provide chip-design services to China's ByteDance, four people familiar with the matter said, as the U.S. company seeks ‌to reduce dependence on the smartphone market, its biggest revenue source. If successful, the ‌negotiations would make ByteDance, the parent of short-video platform TikTok, an early customer of Qualcomm's chip-design services operation. ​Qualcomm is the world's largest supplier of smartphone modem chips, which manage cellular communications.
