Rare Earth Stocks Slide On Oversupply Fears

Rare earth stocks have been a ticket for riding a roller coaster for over a year, but the latest descent has been particularly brutal. Downward momentum gathered steam last Thursday, after the International Energy Agency's Global Critical Minerals Outlook 2026 edition highlighted a planned surge in mining capacity well beyond expectations of refining and magnet production. MP Materials, USA Rare Earth, Critical Metals, Energy Fuels and American Resources all fell by more than 10% last week and some stocks continued to fall on Monday.

Netflix quietly reveals what AI did to 300 of its programs

Every movie you have ever loved has lied to you. The city skyline was a matte painting. The shark was rubber and it barely worked. The crowd of 40,000 was 400 extras and a lot of patient duplication. Audiences have never actually wanted the truth from a screen. We want the trick to hold. Hollywood ...

Wall Street Saw Its Strongest Week 1 Earnings in Over 3 Years

Bank of America strategists recapped the first week of earnings saying that with 50 S&P 500 companies reports in, 88% beat expectations. UBS' CIO office also flagged stronger than historical averages for both beat rates and EPS growth, saying that the stock market has further to run thanks to what's expected to continue to be a strong earnings season. "The wide gaps between individual stock performance and ongoing risks related to geopolitics and inflation, however, mean that investors should ensure diversified exposure," the strategists wrote.

Judge says Paramount and Warner must halt merger for at least two weeks, granting states' request

A federal judge on Monday ordered Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery to halt their $81 billion merger for at least two weeks, allowing states that are challenging the deal more time to see their case through in court. Twelve states, led by California, sued to block Paramount’s pending buyout of Warner last week— alleging that such a combination would “extinguish competition” in Hollywood and lead to fewer choices for consumers, particularly moviegoers and cable customers across the U.S. The states’ top prosecutors called on Warner and Paramount to not close the transaction until after a court had time to “fully evaluate” their claims.
