Consumer price index inflation data, out at 8:30 a.m. ET, may further dampen odds of a Federal Reserve rate hike in September following Friday's weak July jobs reports. S&P 500 futures are slightly higher ahead of the CPI inflation report, holding just off record highs despite inching lower on Monday and Tuesday. Wall Street expects the overall CPI to rise 0.1%, lowering the 12-month headline inflation rate to 3.4% from 3.5%, according to the Econoday consensus forecast.
